Network Topology & Design
Proposed Network Topology & Design
Overview
We propose a hybrid star topology with a centralized core switch and a Cat6/fiber backbone. The cyber café network supports gaming PCs, general browsing systems, guest Wi-Fi, cashier/server systems, CCTV monitoring, and management devices. This topology ensures high performance, scalability, easy troubleshooting, and cost efficiency.
Key Networking Devices
- ISP modem/router (Unifi Fiber) – primary internet uplink
- Edge router/firewall – traffic filtering and basic security
- Core switch – 24-port Gigabit managed switch (VLAN & QoS support)
- Access switches – 16-port Gigabit switches for user zones
- Wireless Access Points (WAP) for guest Wi-Fi and staff devices
- Server/Cashier PC for billing, monitoring, and local services
- NVR system for CCTV video storage
Physical Media & Cabling
- Cat6 UTP cables for workstation-to-switch connections
- Fiber or Cat6 backbone links between floors or network zones
- Structured cable trays for airflow, safety, and maintenance
